HOW TO SET UP YOUR SITE WITH UONCLOUD

1.  REGISTRATION

To register on Uoncloud, you would need just your email address, your name, a password, then you get to choose the plan of your choice depending on your preference. (All available plans can be found on  https://uoncloud.xyz/pricing with one month free trail period, no credit card required )

After choosing the plan, you get to choose your site domain. E.g “tofmat.uoncloud.xyz” tofmat can be any name of your choice. An interesting thing to note is the ability to change the subdomain to your personal domain name, which can be done by sending us a message here

A site title and description is also required which gives a tile and a short description to your WordPress website respectively.

2.   CHOOSING PLUGINS AND THEME

After a successful registration, you would be redirected to the login page where you are required to login with your email/username and password that you registered with on registration. Then you would be taken to your dashboard where you would be spending most of your time in.

The most important things in WordPress are the theme you use and plugins you choose to use. Uoncloud have helped in pre-installing more than 50 secured and trustworthy themes and more than 57 plugins you can use with your website. You choose your theme of choice and activate it, if you don`t get a theme you like on the themes page you can get access to more themes on add theme page. Same goes for plugins.

The theme can be found in the appearance tab on the sidebar of the dashboard while the plugins can be found at the sidebar of your dashboard.

To add another plugin to extend the functionality of the website? You get the flexibility to add more plugins apart from the plugins pre-installed by default. The added plugins are not added instantly as we have to make sure it does not possess any security risk.

3.   CUSTOMIZATION

One of the amazing features about WordPress is the ability to customize your WordPress theme. Depending on the theme you’re using for your WordPress site there are different sets of changes you can make to your site from within your customize page on your admin panel.

The Customize page can be found in Appearance → Customize

In the customize page, you get to do a number of designs that affect the website generally. Like uploading a logo, changing the site background color, changing the site title and description, changing the activating theme, and a lot more changes that affects the website generally depending on the type of theme activated.
